The Guatemala Project
The Guatemala Project was started by Dan & Ashley Arnoldussen to bring awareness and inform family, friends, and the world of there work as volunteer missionaries to Guatemala as directors of Casa De Alabbanza, which means “House of Praise, a children’s home in Guatemala. Dan & Ashley accepted the position offered by Third Day Worship Centre as directors of there Children’s Home in March of 2010. The Guatemala Project is an extention of Casa De Alabbanza, designed to assist in raising global awareness and support of its mission to help neglected and abused children.
Casa de Alabbanza is located in Villa Nueva, Guatemala just south of Guatemala City and is a global outreach ministry of Third Day Missions & Third Day Worship Centre. Its vision and birth was started by Senior Pastor Francis Armstrong who started sending missionary teams over 6 years ago. In 2008 they found a building and in April of 2009 the first of three annual payments of $70,000 was made for its purchase. By 2011 this home will be completely paid for. The last several months renovations have been taking place. It has also been approved for charity status by the Guatemala government. This home can house up to fifty neglected and abused children. This fall (2010) Casa de Alabbanza will be taking in a small number of children and it will grow as our infrastructure and financial support grows. The children will be taught and loved by Guatemalan “Tias” (Aunties) that will take care of the children day to day. The children will attend school at a local church “Iglesia El Shaddai” pastored by Robert Moralis. Connect with us by signing up for our newsletter, become a fan on facebook, or follow us on twitter so you can stay updated on how you can help.
FYI… Alabbanza is actually spelled with only one “B”. The extra B is included to make the play on word “Abba” which means “Father or heavenly Father”
